সোনারগাঁয়ে প্রতিশ্রুতির কয়েক ঘন্টা পরেই বিপর্যস্ত রাস্তা মেরামত করলেন চেয়ারম্যান প্রার্থী সোহাগ রনি। এতে জনদূর্ভোগ দুর হলো দুই ইউনিয়নবাসীর।
কথা রাখলেন সোনারগাঁ উপজেলার মোগরাপাড়া ইউনিয়নের চেয়ারম্যান পদপ্রার্থী হাজী শাহ মোঃ সোহাগ রনি। গতকাল ১২ ফেব্রুয়ারী শুক্রবার দুপুরে সোনারগাঁও সরকারি কলেজের সামনে মেরিখালী নদের উপর নির্মিত ব্রিজের ঢালের রাস্তার বেহাল দশা দেখে তা মেরামতের আশ্বাস দিয়েছিলেন তিনি।
সে অনুযায়ী তার নিজ বাড়ীর কাজের রড, সিমেন্ট ও বালু দিয়ে শুক্রবার রাতভর লেবার-মিস্ত্রি নিয়ে নিজে উপস্থিত থেকে অবশেষে রাস্তার মেরামতের কাজ সমাপ্তি করেন।
চেয়ারম্যান প্রার্থী সোহাগ রনি বলেন, আমি নিজ অর্থায়নে আরসিসি ঢালাই দিয়ে মেরামত কাজ করবো বলে গতকাল শুক্রবার দুপুরে সবাইকে কথা দিয়েছিলাম। তাই আমার বাড়িতে থাকা রড, সিমেন্ট ও বালু দিয়ে রাতভর নিজে উপস্থিত থেকে কাজটি সম্পন্ন করলাম। ভালো কাজে আমি দেরি করতে চাই না। আমি মনে করি আজ যা পারবো তা কালকের জন্য রেখে দেয়া ঠিক না। আমি আসন্ন মোগরাপাড়া ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ নির্বাচনে চেয়ারম্যান প্রার্থী হিসেবে সকলের দোয়া ও সমর্থন চাই।
