বিএনপির প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ও শহীদ প্রেসিডেন্ট জিয়াউর রহমানের ‘বীরউত্তম’ খেতাব বাতিলের সিদ্ধান্তের প্রতিবাদে নারায়ণগঞ্জের সোনারগাঁয়ে মশাল মিছিল করেছেন ছাত্রদলের নেতাকর্মীরা।

১১ ফেব্রুয়ারি সন্ধায় ঢাকা চট্রগ্রাম মহাসড়কের কাঁচপুরে এই মশাল মিছিল নানা শ্লোগানে মুখরিত করে নেতাকর্মীরা। মিছিলে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সোনারগাঁ থানা ছাত্রদলের আহ্বায়ক পদপ্রার্থী মোঃ জাকারিয়া ভুইঁয়া, নারায়ণগঞ্জ জেলা ছাত্রদল নেতা আল আমিন, রুবেল নিলয়, ইফরাত হাসান, শুভ শরীফ, মোঃ রাতুল, সোনারগাঁ উপজেলা ছাত্রদল নেতা সিফাত আদনান, তাইজুল ইসলাম, ফজলে রিমন, মোঃ জাহিদ, মোঃ শাহেদ, মোঃ খোকা, লিটন, হাসনাত, রায়হান, নয়ন, মুন্না, সোনারগাঁ পৌর ছাত্রদল নেতা কাজী নাদিম, রনি, সজিব, সোনারগাঁ ডিগ্রি কলেজ ছাত্রদলের যুগ্ম আহ্বায়ক আল মামুন ও সদস্য শাকিল প্রমুখ।

প্রসঙ্গত, মুক্তিযুদ্ধে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদানের স্বীকৃতি হিসেবে স্বাধীনতার পর জিয়াউর রহমানকে রাষ্ট্রীয়ভাবে দেওয়া ‘বীর উত্তম’ খেতাব বাতিল করার ঘৃণ্য ষড়যন্ত্র করছে সরকার । ৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি মঙ্গলবার জাতীয় মুক্তিযোদ্ধা কাউন্সিলের ৭২তম সভায় এসব সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় তারা।

স্বাধীনতার প্রায় ৫০ বছর পর তার রাষ্ট্রীয় খেতাব বাতিল করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে জাতীয় মুক্তিযোদ্ধা কাউন্সিল (জামুকা)। একইসঙ্গে বঙ্গবন্ধুর আত্মস্বীকৃত খুনি শরিফুল হক ডালিম, নূর চৌধুরী, রাশেদ চৌধুরী ও মোসলেহ উদ্দিনের রাষ্ট্রীয় খেতাবও বাতিলের সুপারিশ করা হয়েছে।
