বাংলাদেশে কর্মরত ভারতের বিভিন্ন গণমাধ্যমের প্রতিনিধিদের সংগঠন ‘ইন্ডিয়ান মিডিয়া করেসপন্ডেন্টস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন, বাংলাদেশ’ (ইমক্যাব) এর নির্বাচনে বাসুদেব ধর (দৈনিক স্টেটসম্যান) সভাপতি এবং মাছুম বিল্লাহ (দৈনিক যুগশঙ্খ/ ইস্টার্ন ক্রনিকল) সাধারণ সম্পাদক নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন।

বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল ১১ টায় ডিজিটাল প্লাটফর্মে ভার্চুয়াল উপস্থিতির মাধ্যমে অনুষ্ঠিত সংগঠনের দ্বি-বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভায় নির্বাচিতদের নাম ঘোষণা করেন নির্বাচন পরিচালনা কমিটির আহবায়ক ও সংগঠনের উপদেস্টা হারুন হাবীব।
নির্বাচিত অন্যরা হলেন, সহ সভাপতি লায়েকুজ্জামান (দৈনিক দিন দর্পণ, কলকাতা), যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক মীর আফরোজ জামান (ইউনাইটেড নিউজ অব ইন্ডিয়া-ইউএনআই), কোষাধ্যক্ষ আমিনুল হক ভুইয়া (উত্তরবঙ্গ সংবাদ/সাময়িক প্রসঙ্গ), সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক আবু আলী ( দৈনিক আমার অসম) এবং নির্বাহী সদস্য কুদ্দুস আফ্রাদ (আনন্দবাজার পত্রিকা), দীপ আজাদ (টাইমস নাউ টিভি), রাজিব খান (জি আকাশ মিডিয়া) ও মনজুর আহমেদ অনিক (দৈনিক আজকের ফরিয়াদ, আগরতলা)।

এছাড়া গঠনতন্ত্র অনুযায়ী বিদায়ী কমিটির সাধারণ সম্পাদক রফিকুল ইসলাম সবুজ (দৈনিক দেশের কথা) পদাধিকার বলে নির্বাহী কমিটির সদস্য থাকবেন।

প্রসঙ্গত, ইমক্যাব নির্বাচনের (২০২১-২০২২) ভোট গ্রহণের নির্ধারিত তারিখ ছিল ৮ এপ্রিল। গত ০৩ এপ্রিল ছিল মনোনয়নপত্র গ্রহণ ও জমা দেওয়ার সময়। গত ৫ এপ্রিল ছিল মনোনয়নপত্র প্রত্যাহারের দিন। তবে সব পদেই একটি করে মনোনয়নপত্র জমা পড়ায় সবাই বিনা প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতায় নির্বাচিত হন।
